S & S Equity Consulting
S & S Equity consulting is the collaborative vision, energy and efforts of Tajah Schall and Deb Silver. Our work is to support individuals, teams, businesses and organizations in recognizing biases and dismantling systems of oppression. Our offerings provide historical context, education, embodied discussion and emotional processing. Clients will be left with a plan of action to continue recognizing areas of privilege and marginalization, and interrupting oppression both within themselves and within the environments they move through.
We believe that all oppression is connected, therefore equity work must address all forms of oppression. While some systems/isms may come to the fore at a given moment, we believe Dr. Martin Luther King’s words that “no one is free until we are all free”.
Consulting work is catered to the needs of the client with a focus on supporting your organization/business in establishing practices and actions towards a more inclusive working environment.*
Consulting work can include, but is not limited to:
Workshops
A workshop is an opportunity to learn the foundations of power, privilege and oppression, and how they manifest in the workplace. Workshops can be half or full day, and can take place over the course of several weeks or months (workshop series)
Retreats
A retreat is a group centered deep dive into equity work. This format allows clients to be immersed in the work over an extended period of time (1-3 days), and to become more comfortable sharing their different cultural experiences with each other
Diversity, Equity & Inclusivity (DEI) Strategy Development
We will assess current strengths and challenges within your organization/business as relates to institutional oppression. We will then guide your organization/business in making structural change toward becoming a more inclusive workplace. We will help the leadership of your organization/business create and implement an action plan based on your stated goals.
*Equity work is never finished. It is a lifetime commitment to examining blindspots due to our areas of privilege. As consultants we approach this work with humility, always listening to marginalized voices. There is always more to learn.
